About the Topic: In an enlightening presentation, Dr. Mauro F. Guillén, will discuss global trends and the future of the global business landscape as analyzed through the lenses of Globalization, Demographic Trends, Inequality and the Global Middle Class, Global Economic and Financial Imbalances, the Shifting Geopolitical Landscape, The Quest for Sustainability, and the Global Powers of the 21st Century. About the Speaker: Dr. Mauro F. Guillén is the Director of the Joseph H. Lauder Institute at Penn, a research-and-teaching program on management and international relations. He holds the Dr. Felix Zandman Endowed Professorship in International Management at the Wharton School and a secondary appointment as Professor of Sociology at the MIT Sloan School of Management. He received a PhD in sociology from Yale University and a Doctorate in political economy from the University of Oviedo in his native Spain. His current research deals with the internationalization of the firm, and with the impact of globalization on patterns of organization and on the diffusion of innovations.
